MARKETING MIX

It's called marketing mix (also called the Marketing Mix, Mixed Commercial, Business Mix, etc.) Tools or variables that have the responsibility of marketing to meet company objectives. Are the marketing strategies or marketing effort and should be included in the Marketing Plan (business plan).

The original mix elements are:
Product or service: marketing a product is anything (tangible or intangible) that is offered to a market for its acquisition, use or consumption and that can satisfy a need or desire. Product can be called material objects or goods, services, people, places, organizations or ideas. Decisions on this point include the formulation and presentation of a specific brand development, and characteristics of the packaging, labeling and packaging, among others. We can say that the product has a life cycle (duration of this time and its evolution) that changes the response of consumers and competition and is drawn as a curve on the graph.

Price: It is mainly the exchange monetary amount associated with the transaction (although it is paid in time or effort). However includes payment (cash, check, card, etc..) Credit (direct, with paper, term, etc..) Prompt payment discounts, volume, surcharges, etc. This in turn is the one raised by a pre-market research, which will define the rate assigned to enter the market. It is noteworthy that the price is the only element of the marketing mix that provides income, as the other components shall not produce costs. On the other hand, know that the price is closely related to the sense of product quality (as well as exclusive).

Place or Distribution: In this case is defined as where to market the product or service that is offered (an essential element for the product is accessible to the consumer). Consider the effective management of distribution channel, having achieved that the product reaches the right place at the right time and under appropriate conditions. Initially, it depended on the manufacturer and is now up for herself.

Promotion: You communicate, inform and persuade the customer and other stakeholders about the company, its products and offers, for the achievement of organizational objectives (what the company = active communication, how the company is perceived communication = passive). The promotional mix consists of Sales promotion, sale or Sale Force personnel, Advertising and Public Relations, and Interactive Communication (direct marketing mailing, emailing, catalogs, websites, telemarketing, etc.)..

Philip Kotler (Chicago, Illinois, May 27, 1931), is an economist and marketing specialist U.S. awarded owner since 1988, the SC Chair in International Marketing Johnson & Son in J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management owned Evaston Northwestern University in Illinois, six times considered by Business Week best faculty in business administration from the United States [citation needed]. He earned his MBA from the University of Chicago and PhD from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), both in economics. He did postdoctoral work in mathematics at Harvard University and in behavioral science at Chicago University.


It is known for his definition of marketing:
"It is the business management technique which allows for predicting the structure of market demand was chosen to design, market and distribute products and / or services that meet and / or stimulate, while maximizing the profits of the company."

Professor Kotler has been honored by numerous awards and accolades over the past 40 years, was elected Leader in Marketing Thought by the AMA in 1975 (American Marketing Association) to be awarded again in 1978 with Paul Converse Award and the Distinguished Marketing Educator Award in 1995 from the same asociación.Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universities of Stockholm, Zurich, Vienna, Athens, DePaul, among others.

Mainly devoted to academic activities, has also worked in the private sphere. Founded Kotler Marketing Group (KMG), a consultancy that advises companies in the areas of strategy, planning and organization of international marketing. Kotler has toured Europe, Asia, Latin America as a consultant to several international companies. AT & T, IBM, General Electric, Honeywell, Bank of America, Merck, SAS Airlines, Michelin, McDonald's, Motorola, Ford Motor, JP Morgan and Novartis are among the companies they worked.
